Books, programs, and films for people building careers without inherited leverage.
North Bridge Media makes work for people still climbing — those building careers without a map, without inheritance, without permission.
The company's projects share a throughline: honest stories, practical structure, and a refusal to write from the summit. Every book, every program, every film starts with the same question — what would have helped, mid-ascent?
North Bridge Media is currently building three projects: Climbing Without a Ladder (the debut book), The Experience (a full-day program for high school students), and Joe T. Holt Speaking (a keynote practice). More work will follow.
Joe grew up in Oberlin, Ohio. He served in the Army with a deployment to Korea. He built a career in executive operations starting from a Dell mall kiosk.
He writes from the climb, not from the top. Climbing Without a Ladder: The Playbook — a memoir and field manual — is his debut book, publishing October 23, 2026.
His work sits at the intersection of leadership, career development, and stories about how people actually move forward when nobody hands them a ladder. He has spent the last two decades leading operations teams, mentoring the people coming up behind him, and building the language for what he was already teaching in hallways and one-on-ones.
Joe is the founder of North Bridge Media. He lives in Oberlin.
